You'll notice I call Mr. Stein a great American, not a great Republican. I do so because I feel that while MR. Stein's sentiments are 125% correct, I feel he missed vital part of the mark.
The American people are fed up. Regarless of party we are sick and tired of having our public officials, be they federal, state, or local, telling us how to live our lives. We are to be the writers of our own destiny's NOT BARACK OBAMA! Not our Senators, not our Congressmen. Not our Govenors or our state representatives, but we the American Electorate, are to be responsible for the successes and failures of our nation. WE and we alone hold that responsibility.
Now our forefathers gave us the responsiblity to place learned and responsible men and women at the head of the USS America. Unfortunately we have failed at our job.
WE failed because we did not seem to realize that he people our elected officials surround themselves with is more important than the people we elect.
Yet in their great wisdom, Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, and Adams realized that as humans we were going to err. So they gave us provisions that allowed us to correct our mistakes.
While the days of Muskets and fife are long since gone, we have much handier and cleaner forums to air our civil discourse. We need not be hateful like those on the other side of the fence. Those who have been blinded by shear charisma and by those with blind ambition.
Use your minds people! Use your computers, your email, your telephones and cell phones. Call your officials and make the greatest threat you can legal make that will not land you in prision. Threaten to remove their power, it is after all the only thing they care about.
Your power lies in the voting booth and the polling station. Your power lies in your fingertips, your keyboards, your pens and paper. Write letters, make phone calls, knock on doors.
We are a Nation Under God, A Nation that when divided can fall like a house of cards is affected by a small breeze. However, when we band together we are able to withstand torrential downpours, and hurrican force gales. So will you band together.
Fight for the rights of our nation and for our individual rights, because they are being attacked?
It is only through a united front we will be able to overcome the defeatest among us.

Dear Mr. President
Dear Mr. President,
As I wait with baited breath for the pre-circulation of your message to our children on Tuesday September 8th; I wonder, why has it come to this?
Why must you be in everyone’s face? On television all the time, granted I want to know you are doing the job my tax dollars are paying you to, but must you have monthly ‘A Day In The Life’ segments on national networks? I suspect it will not be long until satellite providers begin to air the Obama Channel; all Obama, All the time! MR. President if you want to help change this nation, do so, but respect the people whom you are to be leading. Respect that one of the best features of this country is that we are all entitled to differing opinions and still remain friends. Respect that those differing opinions are what make America the home of the free and the land brave.
I am the last person who would discourage anyone from informing my kids about the importance of education. In a household with a 6th grader, a 2nd grader and one in daycare, you would think this is evidentiary knowledge. Add to that list of academic levels, a single mother attending a 4 year University full time and the house is filled with text books and papers in some stage of completion or another. Yet when I first heard of your Address and subsequently read the Department of Education’s 'Menu of Classroom Activities' which accompanied the announcement I was, if nothing else, concerned.
Concerned why your administration wants my sons to write letters about how they could help the you, aren’t you supposed to be helping them? Isn’t it your job to be bringing this great nation together, wasn’t that what you had promised? Concerned that the menu also suggested, teachers ask students why it is important to listen to those in charge… President, Senators, Mayors and other elected officials; are they not to be listening to the public? Was it not public discourses that lead to the founding of the colonies and ultimately this wonderfully free land? Was it not dissatisfaction with the status quo that brought about change?
Mr. President, I do not suggest you stop being who you are. That is what makes us each individuals. However, one must wonder why your administration is not listening to the concerns of all these others? Why instead, it seems you want to tell my children why my line of thinking is wrong.
It is not my government’s responsibility to tell my children what to think, how to act or even so much as if and when they will graduate. It is mine! It is my responsibility to be the change I want to see and to cultivate it in my children. It is my responsibility to see that my children are doing the work necessary to get on in this world. That does not necessarily mean there will not be hurdles in my path, but they are mine to overcome.
As I see it, the nation spoke in the election of president, but that does not mean you are only there to serve those who voted you into office and to forget about the rest of us. You are ALL OF OUR PRESIDENT. So I ask that you please take all of our concerns to heart. I do not want to see you fail; I wish you great success in your tenure as President. I also wish you great wisdom and knowledge as you act, for all of us.

CSPAN 9-8-09 12:00 Noon BE THERE! Question Everything and Accept Nothing
President Obama's address to the Students of our nation will be broadcast over the airwaves of real and cyber space.
Now lets get one thing straight. I am still not wholely comfortable with this however, during my rant last night, I was under then impression that the only information available was that there would be an address and that, that was about it. I have since thanks to my friend Jess been informed of teh above link and I have viewed it, viewed teh PSA's and viewed teh otehr short video's that are posted there.
I still fervently believe that we as a nation are to Question EVERYTHING. Mr. Obama wants us all to be life long learners, the only way for that to happen is to continuely ask questions. I do not trust that MR. Obama would like that line of thought, I get the impression that the people he is surrounding himself with would oppose it vehemently. Because I still feel that we are being primed to accept everything and question nothing. A philosophy I disavow. But being a reasonable person I will watch CSpan on Tuesday and I will discuss what I heard and what my son heard when he gets home on Tuesday; and we as a family will decide, and if it turns out I am wrong... I will continue to question everything and accept nothing, but I will apologize first because that is what rational people do.

So Uncle Barry wants to talk to the kiddy's?
I am a mother of three beautiful children and when I heard about Mr. Obama's plan to address the children of the nation, I was sickened! More than that, I was outraged, that he man who has been the leader (a word I use very loosely) of the free world for just over eight months, had decided that if he couldn't get through to the adults of the nation on his plans for a Socialist Government, he would find another way. A way those adults could not ignore.
We as Americans have over the past several decades have decided that not only is more better, but it is absolutely necessary! If you want a car, you don't just buy a car; you purchace a $40,0000.00 machine capable of mowing over small buildings, and striking fear in the small blue haired driver ahead of you. We decided that when our chidren ask, neigh demand, "Mommy, Daddy, I want a Goose, A goose that lays golden eggs!" We must respond in a complimentary way. We not only get the goose that lays the golden eggs but the goose that will lie golden eggs with chocolate bunnies inside!
Now our grand Uncle, who entered office spouting promices of hope and change has delivered on one side of the golden coin he dangeled infront of so many American's. Things have definately changed! He is going to tell all the small children what he wants them to do. What HE, needs them to do. What they must do to make HIM happy. Then next Tuesday, September 8th, all of those small children are going to go home and tell Mommy and Daddy, what a great leader we have, because he has promised them they will be able to accomplish so much more, if they only listen to him...?
But wait; didn't Jefferson and Adams, Washington and Franklin, decided that it was to be the people of this great land who made the decisions. It would be their responsibility to decide who would enact laws, and if the 'leaders' didn't listen they would have every reason and right under heaven to rise up and question the authority they had placed in that official. Hummm. Maybe... Maybe it was only a suggestion, you know Jefferson really wasn't all that concerned. He only sent messages from France informing the Continential Congress how important it was that the People be a part of the equation... Long before the Internet and telegraphs and telephones. How long did it take to get a letter across the seas back then? How long did they deliberate?
Nothing comes without a price and I am afraid our Geese will never be able to produce enough golden eggs to save us this time.
So now America I ask you; have you gotten your golden eggs lately? Are you happy with the production from your goose? Has he proven that the promices for a hope, for a change in your life, which he would deliver, was all fact???
It is important to remember that this nation was founded on the principals of shared responsibility, shared determination, and individual blood, sweat and tears.
